Bennett Meadow WMA – A wildlife management area on private property, along the Connecticut River, open to the public for hiking, hunting, and fishing (no maintained trails). The land is farmed, but there is a nice wooded walking area along the river. The owner has planted bird-friendly vegetation attracting seasonal visitors such as woodcock and grouse. Bennett Brook flows in the river at the southern end of this site. The parking area is on south side of route 10 on the west side of the Connecticut River.
Franklin County Bikeways – A county-wide bikeway extending the height of Northfield and into Vermont and New Hampshire.
Munn’s Ferry Boat Camping – Accessible only by river; reservations (and payment) required. Click on the “Munn’s Ferry Boat Camping” box in the above map to obtain all information relative to arranging for and using this camping area.
Northfield Mountain Recreation Area – A private network of hiking and skiing trails owned and operated by FirstLight Power; they also offer a variety of environmental education and recreational programs. Located at 99 Millers Falls Rd.
Northfield Golf Course – A picturesque nine-hole golf course adjacent to the Mill Brook Wetlands, complete with clubhouse. Located at 31 Holton St.
Pauchaug Boat Ramp – A boat ramp on the Connecticut River; a mile and a half north of the village center (Main and Warwick) turn west off routes10/63 (Main St) onto the boat ramp access road. The boat ramp and its parking area are on DCR (Department of Conservation and Recreation) property.
